Lovely Brown,
aka BLACK COFFEE, was born in Mississippi and raised in the Dirty South.
She writes novels, poetry, songs and spoken word. She has performed live
with song and spoken word, but lately she has devoted her time to
getting her novels published.
Brown’s primary audience ranges in age from 15 to 60. She has a network
of readers through popular blogs she joined five years ago;
Allhiphop.com. Myspace and twitter friends are eagerly awaiting a
release from this series. She also works with two female high school
basketball teams, her USM basketball team, Greek sororities and
fraternities, her book club; Black Coffee's Book Club on FaceBook, and a
host of local library groups who look forward to seeing her published
and successful. Lovely Brown’s Specialties: Working with the youth in a wide array of fields, from politics to reading, writing and arithmetic—to daily life situations that her young sisters deal with. Having three sons has allowed Brown to add young males to several of her groups, as they come to Brown and her sons for advice. She loves being there for anyone whom she sees trying to make a positive way. “The young are our future. It is all of our responsibility to nurture them.” This is what inspired Lovely Brown to write. |
Time to Learn: Time Will Reveal, Part 1
uses the relationship between Ebony and Anthony in the underworld of
Cleveland, Ohio, to shine light and focus on the strength and survival
of families drawn together through their migration north to escape
racism and bigotry during the Civil Rights Movement. Their loyalty for
each other is overwhelming. The resulting unconditional love not only
teaches Ebony how precious life and true love are, but also the dues
which were paid by her elders to afford her generation its freedoms. Ebony knows now that both good and bad things happen to good people, but with commitment and a sound foundation she can prevail. Part 1 starts in 1989 with the mischievous adolescent stages and street survival.
In this provocative tale,
Time to Learn: Time Will Reveal, Part 1 captures your
interest with the mystery surrounding Ajay and his player ways, cast
against Ebony's innocence.
