The Months of 2001
by Kristopher Davis

January is the month of the New Year

February is the month of love

March is the month of leprechaun

April is the month of fools

May is the month of the heat wave

June is the month when school gets out

July is to celebrate The United States independence

August is the month when school begins

September is the month when I turn 14

October is the month when lots of kids go to the dentist

November is the month when I gain about 5 pounds

December is the month when I get presents

That is my poem about the months

If you like it please let me win

If you don't then I’ll try again

To Carrol

You are my brother,
And I,
Your sister
You were first
And
I was last
But,
We both won

You amaze me
It is in your eyes
That I see my own
You held me as a baby
And
Watched me grow into a woman

I remember holding your hand
And
I know your smile
I’ve listened to your jokes
And laughed
Because I love you

You command my attention
By
Not speaking at all
Your worries are mine
Just because
Because-
I am part of you always
And
You, a part of me
I know no other way

In your girls
I see love and a free spirit
For they speak through you
Your godchild, my son
See your spirit
And
Grins as you do
When you know,
Really know
That you made someone else
Smile

I am so very proud of you
Not just
For what you have accomplished
But
Who you are-
My brother
And I,
Your sister
