Bio Renae Battaglia

 

          Renae Battaglia has been writing since she was a child and had her first poem published when she was thirteen.  She has been in the publishing business for close to thirty years starting at age 22 when she became the editor of Sweet Life Magazine in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  Ms. Battaglia majored in Mass Communications with an emphasis on creative writing and journalism and has worked for Denver Magazine and TV Guide.  She has also published articles in various publications included Shot in LA, Elan Magazine, The Sun Coast Beach Reporter, The Networker, newsletter for the Colorado Artisans Network and The Fine Arts Trader

          Battaglia started the Gulf Coast Arts & Entertainment Review in 1997 upon moving to New Orleans and seeing that there was need for a publication devoted to the arts & entertainment along the Gulf Coast.  The magazine currently distributes over 8,000 copies from Baton Rouge, LA to Mobile, Alabama.  As publisher/editor, Battaglia writes many of the articles, shoots the photographs, and helps in the marketing.
