CONTEST RULES AND INFORMATION

1.         Poems must be original, unpublished in any form and should have won no award, other than honorable mention, in any poetry contest.

2.         Entries must be on 8 1/2 X 11 white paper. Double space short stories. Entries must meet form requirements, line or word limit specified.  Multiple pages should be numbered.  List word count of short stories on first page of entry. Be accurate.

3.         Only one entry is allowed per category.  Do not enter the same manuscript in more than one category.  All entries should be titled, except haiku.

4.         Send two copies of each entry.  On the first copy, include the writer’s name, address, phone number, email address, on the upper left corner, and the category number/title on the right corner.  On the second copy, do not include writer’s name; just category and category title.  Put in two stacks and paper clip.  Mail flat in a large brown envelope.   (Be sure to use adequate postage.)

5.         Optional: Include two self-addressed stamped  #10 envelopes for awards info and winners list.  Mark each on outside.

6.         Entrants who do not follow the above rules may be disqualified.

7.         Entry Fees:  $5.00 per entry or a fee of $15.00 covers one entry in all categories.  Make checks payable to Writers Unlimited. (No cash, please)

8.         Deadline is postmark date of September 25, 2010. (Awards ceremony tentatively set for November 13, 2010.)
