Writers' Guidelines for ADDitude Magazine  Thank you for your interest in writing for ADDitude. We're always looking for great writers and great stories about attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, learning disabilities, and related conditions.

Who: Most of the articles we publish are written by journalists and mental-health professionals. However, we are generally willing to consider first-person articles by parents, employers, teachers, etc. who have personal experience with ADHD or LD and whose insights might be helpful to ADDitude's readers (most of whom are parents of children with ADHD or a learning disability and/or adults with ADHD).

How: Reading back issues of the magazine is a good way to get a sense of the kinds of articles we publish. Please be aware that story concepts you propose may have been suggested previously by others or may already be planned for publication by our editorial staff.

What: If you'd like to propose an article idea or submit a manuscript you've already written, please send a query letter to ADDitude. Your query letter should include:

·         A brief description or outline of your idea     ·         Why you think it belongs in our magazine

·         Why you should be the one to write it            ·         Any recent clips you may have

If we're interested in your idea, we’ll get back to you, generally within six weeks, with details about the assignment.

Where: We prefer to receive submissions via e-mail, as attachments. But we accept submissions via US mail, as well. Email ADDitude or ADDitude Magazine, 39 W. 37th St., 15th Fl., New York, NY 10018

Contributors Wanted: The Daily Common is the first and only (as far as we can tell) open-submission news site.

This means you don't have to have a college degree, previous experience, or know the right people in order to have your voice heard. In fact, we believe there are millions of Americans whose ideas are just as good, if not better, than the majority of reporters, pundits, and analysts dominating today's media - they just don't have a medium to do it.

So we're looking for writers, artists, journalists, or anyone else who feels their reasonable, rational, and generally accepted - yet still insightful - perspective is not being heard.

There's no commitment to provide regular content, although you're welcome to submit as much and as often as you'd like.
Visit Us; www.TheDailyCommon.com/submit-content/ to submit a story, and please check out our "About" page and the "Our Mission" page to get a good idea of what we're trying to accomplish.

While there is no monetary compensation (at least not yet), we will provide a link back to a personal website (or social network of your choosing) to help you build your brand, gain exposure, and improve your SEO/online presence.

We will also help you (if you need help) promote yourself and your article through marketing, Twitter, Facebook, etc.

You're welcome to e-mail editor@thedailycommon.com or info@thedailycommon.com

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS. SOL: English Writing in Mexico  SOL: English Writing in Mexico is an on-line literary magazine that comes out quarterly in July, November, and March of each year. Well-known writers Tony Cohan, Bill Pearlman, C.M. Mayo, Christopher Cook and others have been included in the first three issues, as well as a special cast of "new" writers. SOL is accepting submissions now for its July issue. Nonfiction, fiction, and poetry are this magazine's literary makeup.SOL actively seeks submissions from new writers, as well as established writers as each issue will be made up of a mix of professionally published writers, and new writers. Although much of the magazine's focus is on writing from or about Mexico, the editors have declared a special category called "we like it," which allows them to take a submission simply because it's good writing.

Because it is used extensively in public high school classes, it does not accept articles and stories with overt religious emphasis.
