Check out the Events Calendar for upcoming dates.

  • If you wish to submit something for review please bring 12 copies to one meeting and pass them out. We will review your work at the following meeting.

  • Material submitted may be any genre and any type of writing (e.g. Chapters of a mystery novel, a poem, non-fiction essay, short story) except for pornography.

  • Material should be in manuscript form: double spaced, single sided, Font 12, Times New Roman, page numbered, with your name on the first page. You may also include word count. (This is not a requirement)

  • When critiquing another’s work, please mark on their manuscript your comments and corrections and be prepared to talk about these at the next meeting.

  • We take turns in reviewing the submissions. Each reviewer has about two minutes to comment. Please mark misspellings or punctuation on the manuscript, but don’t spend time talking about those unless they are a significant recurrent problem in the manuscript. After all have reviewed, the author may speak for another two minutes. All manuscripts with comments are then returned to the author.

  • You may bring food to share, but no alcohol, and please help clean up afterwards.

  • This is our group to enjoy. Thanks for being a participant.

The Gulf Coast Writers Association is the parent organization. Membership Dues are $25 a year and include a subscription to the Magnolia Quarterly. www.gcwriters.org
